As part of our service each week, we recite together our affirmation of community, in which we lay out the vision for what sort of community we aspire to be.
AFFIRMATION OF COMMUNITY
We gather around God’s table together.
We share our food, our fears, our faith.
We rejoice that we are brothers, sisters, siblings,
given life by one God.
We laugh and pray together.
We do not accept the world as it is.
We work for the world as it should be.
We follow the way of Jesus in word and action.
We believe that peace can come, and that love
will win.
We inspire each other to courage and hope.
